Hosts & Speakers
Chris Peck, Emcee
Chris is the Executive Pastor at Rhythm Church Oceanside and has been a longtime friend of the Beautifully Flawed Foundation. For years Chris worked as the Brand Partnerships Manager at Cobian Footwear, creating strong relationships with their athletes, including Bethany Hamilton. His close relationship to Bethany and her husband Adam has helped shape the way for Cobian to become a corporate sponsor of Beautifully Flawed. As a pastor, Chris has a huge heart in helping others find hope to overcome.
Sarah Hill, Event Host
Sarah is a founding board member and the current Executive Director at the Beautifully Flawed Foundation, a motivational speaker, and youth leader (portrayed by Carrie Underwood in the movie Soul Surfer). Grounded in her devotion and love for Christ, her training and her own past (which includes suffering a broken neck and back in a surfing accident) helped prepare and equip her in ministry.
Josh Reed, Speaker
Josh is a husband, project manager, 2x Forge Men’s Retreat attendee & leader, and right leg above the knee amputee. Josh has a heart to empower and disciple men both in the amputee community and beyond to become strong and godly leaders in their homes and in life.
Heather Foster, Speaker
Heather is a mother, wife, septic survivor, and bilateral amputee. Heather first learned about the Beautifully Flawed Foundation through our last Shine Forth event in 2019, unknowingly preparing her for the loss of both her legs. She has found so much purpose in her fight to come back, seeing Christ use her story to inspire the lives of others.
Nan McMahan, Speaker
Nan is a passionate follower of Jesus, a student in Georgia State University’s Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program, a 3x Beautifully Flawed Retreat attendee & leader, and a right leg above the knee amputee. She radiates the hope of Jesus to everyone she meets through the way she lives her life and through her powerful story.
Andrea Zavala, Speaker
Andrea is a sepsis survivor and quadruple amputee. Although she was just learning to use her prosthetics when we first met her at our 2021 retreat, she quickly conquered walking stairs in the first few hours. Now a 4x Beautifully Flawed Retreat attendee, Andrea has come full circle in her own story seeing God use her to help our other quad amputees attendees in their journeys.
