When this foundation launched in 2007, the simple mission was to share in the grace of abundance. In the wake of Bethany Hamilton’s infamous shark attack, there was an excess of financial support for her family that led to the formation of our roots, what was then known as Friends of BethanyAnd as stories do, we evolved.

We continue to share abundance as the Beautifully Flawed Foundation, and the essence of this ministry remains to be that of resilience, redemption, and revival. Now strength, tenacity, and might are the trajectory we step into. As this foundation expands into its new name and its new identity, we’ve met new faces and been inspired by new voices that are shaping the future of this organization.

In this process, we’re developing the body of this organization through the addition of events, such as the Forge Retreat for men who face limb difference. We’re stepping into new territory by operating multiple events in a single year. The Beautifully Flawed Foundation no longer serves from the story of one, but we’re laying the broad foundations to give voice to the many. We’re in heavy reconstruction and the team that surrounds us is our crew.

We want you on our crew. Here’s how you can support our foundation right now:

Support Our Silent Auction:

Through the support of businessman Craig Shelly, our foundation will be the benefactor of a combined Mastermind and Charity Golf Tournament held in Carlsbad, CA this September. As a part of this event, we will be hosting a silent auction (from which we benefit all proceeds) at the welcome party and we need items that will appeal to the bids of an affluent community. If you are a business owner that is able to donate prize items of $250 or greater value, we’d like to honor your tax-deductible contributions and utilize this platform to share your brand or product.

Helicopter Ball Drop:

As a part of the same Mastermind and Charity Golf Tournament, our entire community is able to participate from afar in the chance to win $50,000 in prizes and support us with 50% of those ticket sales in the process. It’s a win-win and we hope that you really…win! For $20, you can purchase a ticket for the “ball drop” that will take place at the golf tournament.

Support Our October Retreats:

Next week, we will be rolling out with the specific needs of our October dual retreats for men and women with limb loss and differences. From scholarships and housing needs, to the provision of food and fare, we have a lot to cover in our first-ever, simultaneous but separate, retreats of both the Forge for men and the Beautifully Flawed Retreat for women with limb difference. We’d love for you to consider in the meantime the financial commitments that you might be able to make in these specific ways.

Host Us:

The ability to share stories is one of the most fundamentally human characteristics and it’s a huge part of what this foundation is about. To be given the stage is to be granted the platform to not only inspire others in their own journey but open doors of possibility. If you have an event that you would have our Director or a community leader speak at, we’d want to consider it in our schedule and team with you in the process.

We recognize the innate, created being of every individual and the unique calling upon their lives that is inborn to their DNA. At the same time we know that the process of evolution beyond our trauma, facade, and expectations is a personal responsibility that moves a person beyond the fear of vulnerability. We dream that the individuals that make up the community of this foundation, past, present and what is yet to come, are more than conquerors, but that they choose to be at the front lines in taking action against injustice and complacency, forever.

Make Incredible Things Happen
